Planning and Strategy
The Planning and Strategy Division identifies opportunities and develops strategies to achieve reforms and continuous improvement in the use and management of Government properties. The Division provides Whole-of-Government office accommodation and asset management support and advice to Government agencies. Under the mandate of the State Property Authority, this role extends to all generic property assets.
The work performed by this Division includes:
- Analysis of portfolio property asset performance
- Review of agency property holdings against service delivery requirements
- Analysis of Government’s regional property holdings to assess their appropriateness for future service delivery
- Total asset management planning for the Government property portfolio.
Portfolio Management
The Portfolio Management Division is responsible for the efficient and cost effective management and maintenance of government-owned and leased property, including capital works, lease negotiation and management, portfolio services, engineering and facility management and contract administration.
The work performed by this Division includes:
- Vesting and integration of management of government-owned and leased property assets
- Negotiating government property leasing matters for office accommodation
- Coordination of minor capital works program of upgrades, refurbishments and sustainability initiatives throughout the government property portfolio.
Divestments, Acquisitions and Development
Divestments, Acquisitions and Development Division provides strategic advice, research and analysis on property transactions. It undertakes a range of property transactions and development activities on behalf of government agencies, with a particular focus on multi agency capital works. The Division implements strategies to dispose of surplus property, and acquires land and properties for the construction of properties for government services.
The work performed by this Division includes:
- Disposing of surplus government assets
- Providing expert advice to government agencies on property sales
- Acquiring land and properties to support improvements to Government services
- Act as the lead agency for all multi-agency property proposals linked by timing, location or use.
